Often when I post an image of a Sydney 18-Footer or 22-Footer someone will comment that it looks like an American Sandbagger. I’ve researched the links, and there is a connection. I’ll touch on it in my talk at the Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart (Sunday 10 Feb 10am in the theatre) but the whole story is now up on the YARNS Page atwww.openboat.com.au. This image is a Sandbagger on Long Island Sound, Photo by Bolles probably 1897 in the Rosenfeld Collection at Mystic Seaport Museum.
